Welcome to Drs Ryan, McGuinness, McAfee & Donaghey - Lisburn Health Centre
Through this website we hope to improve our services to all of our patients and enable you to find the information required at the click of a mouse. You can order repeat prescriptions online, download registration forms, cancel existing appointments, change the contact details we hold for you and much more.
We take pride in offering a high quality service that is friendly, prompt and comprehensive. Please take a look around the website for further information about the Practice and the wide range of services that we offer. You will also find other health-related information and links that we hope will be useful.
We are closed on the following dates:
17 March 2022
For urgent medical problems during this time, please ring Lagandoc on 028 9260 2204.
Please ensure your repeat prescriptions are ordered and dispensed by your pharmacy in good time to avoid running out while the surgery and pharmacy are closed over the holidays.
All eligible patients have been sent an invitation letter to book an appointment for their annual flu vaccination - please only book an appointment upon receipt of an invite letter. If you feel you are eligible to receive the flu vaccination and have not received your invitation letter, please contact Reception to arrange an appointment.
Alternatively you may receive the vaccination free of charge from some local pharmacies.
We would request any patient who has received a flu vaccination from anyone other than your GP / Practice Nurse to let us know so that we can update your medical record.
Coronavirus Booster Vaccine Update
The Covid-19 booster vaccine is now available at the Practice.
- you cannot receive the booster if you have tested positive for Covid-19 within the previous 28 days.
- There must be at least 3 months between your second Covid-19 vaccine and your booster. If you have not received an invitation but feel you are eligible please contact reception for an appointment.
During the Covid-19 pandemic we continue to provide general medical services. However, we cannot offer advanced booking for routine appointments. All face-to-face appointments are booked after telephone triage with a GP / Advanced Nurse Practitioner.
We now provide a daily telephone triage service with routine calls logged from 8.30 am each day. We can only accommodate a limited number of routine requests each day. Urgent calls will be given priority.
The GPs have directed Reception staff to ask all patients for an overview of their medical problem to help determine the best course of action to help them.
We are constantly updating and streamlining our systems in response to a rapidly evolving situation. We can forward sick lines to your mobile phone and arrange video/photo consultations where necessary.
Patients attending surgery
To ensure the safety of our patients, staff and GPs, you should NOT visit the surgery unless you have been told to by a member of the Practice team.
If you are asked to attend the surgery, please arrive at your exact appointment time and not earlier for your own safety and that of others as we are trying to limit the number of patients in our waiting area at any one time.
You will be asked to wash your hands in warm, soapy water before entering the waiting area.
If you are attending an appointment with the Practice Nurse, please wear clothing that will enable quick access to your arm so that she can conduct your vaccination, bloods or BP check quickly and efficiently.
Coronavirus - Face Coverings
Since 10 August 2020 the use of face coverings in certain indoor settings, such as shops or shopping centres, has been mandatory.
We ask that you wear a face mask or covering for your appointment with a GP, the Practice Nurse or the Treatment Room.
Information on NI Direct states that 'There is no need to get a letter from a doctor or government to show that you do not need to wear a face covering. If you have a condition which means you cannot wear a face covering you only need to say, if asked, that you cannot wear a face covering because you are exempt'.
Further details are available at https://www.nidirect.gov.uk/articles/coronavirus-covid-19-face-coverings
Covid-19 Vaccine Verification
We have been advised that the Department of Health is working on a solution to enable proof of vaccination to the agreed standard for international travel.
Please note that neither GPs nor other Health Care organisations are able to issue letters to the agreed standard for travel purposes.
How to find your health and care number
The Health & Social Care Board has provided links to a patient video across social media platforms showing how to find your health and care number:
Please do not collect prescriptions at Reception. During the current Coronavirus pandemic, all prescriptions should go to a nominated chemist.
If you need a repeat prescription, please use our 24 hour repeat prescribing line (028 9250 1289) and ensure you provide the name of your preferred chemist along with your name, date of birth, telephone number and medication you wish to order.
