Noticeboard

Important Notice

The Practice has been informed by the Health & Social Care Board that some patients have been contacted by “bogus callers” claiming to be linked to the Practice in order to sell products or extract financial information including bank details.

If you receive a call of this nature, DO NOT disclose any personal information and contact the surgery immediately.

Think - 3 before GP

GPs and their wider team need time to give patients the best care they possibly can. You can help free up time for those who really need expert advice by considering three alternatives before booking an appointment. Find out more - 3 Before GP

Out of Hours

LAGANDOC, the local out of hours provider, looks after the urgent needs of patients from 6.00 pm to 8.30 am weekdays, and 24 hours at weekends and bank holidays.  Please do not ask to see a doctor out of hours unless you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

Call 999 in an emergency. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

Appointments

Appointments can be made through reception. Telephone 028 9260 3111 or via this website with your login (ask at reception for details). Normal appointments are for 10 minutes only and cannot accommodate two people unless prior agreed by the doctor.  Please note that appointments that will require longer than 10 minutes such as minor surgical procedures or private medicals are not appropriate to book online and should be booked by telephone.

Repeat Prescriptions

You can order you repeat prescriptions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on the 24 hour repeat prescription line (02892603111 option 1) or through this website with your login (ask at reception for details).

Requests for Repeat prescriptions may be made in person, online or by telephone request to Reception. If you find it difficult to come into the surgery during opening hours you may wish to use our chemist collection service.  Please see below link for futher details.

Patients who receive items on a repeat prescription MUST order them directly from us and not from their chemist, accept in exceptional circumstances which must by authorised by the GP.

There is a 24-hour answer phone for making requests for medication.  Please use this service rather than ringing the main Reception.

Telephone 028 9250 1289.

Requests for repeat prescriptions are dealt with as quickly as possible, but we cannot guarantee that they will be ready for collection until 4pm the following working day. Please plan in advance when you need your repeat prescription.

Hospital letters, which require us to issue you with medication, are treated in the same manner as repeat prescriptions and we need the same length of time to prepare them.

Online Repeat Prescription Ordering - Patient Access

If you wish to order your repeat prescription online you will need a login and password. For security reasons you must come into the Practice and register for your personal login and password details. This registration process should only have to been completed once, thereafter you should be able to order your repeat medication online as and when required.

If you have a login and password then click here to order your prescription

If you are experience any difficulty accessing Patient Access please contact the Practice for a new access code.

Repeat Prescription Collection

You can specify ONE chemist to collect your repeat prescriptions from the Practice. Once you sign up to this service you are no longer able to collect your own prescription from the surgery (excluding acute items after discussion with a GP).

If you wish to use this service please contact Reception for a consent form.

If you change your mind and wish to opt out of this service or change the chemist you use you must contact Reception.

Faxing Prescriptions

The practice adheres to the Health and Social Care Board prescribing guidance in relations to faxing prescriptions which confirms its only in exceptional circumstances that faxing prescriptions is permissible. This will also require GP authorization.

Lost or Stolen Prescriptions

If you lose your prescription you must contact the Practice immediately. The type of medication listed on the prescription will determine if a duplicate prescription will be reissued.

For all stolen prescriptions these must be reported to the PSNI and a crime reference number given to the GP before any further medication may be authorised.

Early Prescription Requests

If you require your medication early you will be required to discuss this with the Practice Pharmacist.
